This is not intended as a smart-*ss comment, but I would recommend cleaning
the engine so you can see what you're doing.

The engine is in the stand and I'm tearing it down. Question: what's the
best way to remove the muffler, engine mounts, engine crossbar, etc.?
There's so much greasy crud down there I can barely tell what to wrench.
Before I started tearing into it, I thought I'd ask.
