Once upon a time I spent $1200 trying to get the A/C in my '85 to work properly. It teased me for a few weeks and after the 3rd Sanden compressor shrapneled I gave up and just drank more water... I lived in Alabama then, too. There's good shop in Montgomery I should have allowed to rebuild the system with a different more efficient A/C compressor which they showed me. It would have cost more than $1200 but it would have worked right. Cry once, they say.
