Dan, Just remove the belt till you can replace or repair. At some point the ATF will leak out faster than you can fill it and your pump will scream. No sense losing that too. BTW I installed Frank's kit in in my 91MV and am really happy with the result. Easy install and it won't rust ;-) John Meeks '91 Multivan, '85 GL bits Northern Michigan KC8ZFN Vanagon Rescue Squad http://www.vanagonauts.com/Vanagon_Rescue_Squad74.htm On Mon, Jun 30, 2008 at 1:01 AM, Dan Barrett <dbx@pobox.com> wrote: > Volks, > I'm starting to lose a lot of ATF through a corroded power steering > line located in the engine compartment: specifically, the > lower/rightmost of the two steel lines which run under the airbox and > disappear through the firewall -- not sure if that's the send or return > line. > In the short term (i.e., before I save enough cash for Frank > Condelli's replacement line kit), do I have any ready options to > replacing the corroded line?
