It may vary by area. I am in a relatively rural part of PA (about 40 minutes
from JordanVw) and had a hard time finding someone who would tow away the
stripped carcass of my tree-damaged '89 Westy for free, much less pay me for
it. Several turned me down flat, telling me that even for free they wouldn't
make enough in scrap value to justify the fuel costs and time involved in
transporting it.
