Seems I wirebrushed off a paper cover when disassembling the pump, and it makes sense that one would go there, but also that it would add unwanted distance between the pump gears and the housing cover. Anyone? Jim, you've found yet another error in the Bentley. There are two gaskets there. Gasket, oil pump, pump cover to pump body, 111 115 131B and Gasket, oil pump, pump body to engine, 025 115 111A. These gaskets are still available from VW. I keep them is stock, see my _Vanagon Items Forsale_ (http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/sales.htm) "Engine" webpage. DO NOT TRUST THE BENTLEY !
