Had the same thing with a new tank on my 81. Leave the gas cap off and try to start it. I was getting vacuum in the tank before the fuel could return to the tank from the regulator. Roger '89 Westy "The Moose Lounge" '86 GL "Sugaree" '90 Audi 90
