My 1990 non-GL was made in Austria, > and my 1990 GL was made in Hannover. true. it started in about March of 1990 ... serial number 071053 was built in Hannover but 071087 was built in Graz, Austria. both are NON-syncos. during and after March 1990, it appears from the VINs i've collected that batches of bodies were shipped to Austria to be final assembled, whether syncros or not. i don't know for sure if any chassis/bodies were actually produced in Graz or not, but i do know that the T3/Vanagons were assembled there. the first week of November 1990 is the last Hannover serial numbers i have ... after that, all the T3/Vanagons, syncros and non-syncros, were built in Graz, Austria at the plant that previously produced only the syncros. serial number 007468 is the last non-syncro built in Hannover that i have. 007797 and all afterward were built in Graz. and that appears to include even the pickup trucks (at least the ones that were shipped to canada). unca joel
