Hi,

We didn't replace ours.  But B being "of a certain age", found the
original padding was just too spartan to get any decent sleep.  So we
augmented it with a good-quality 2" foam pad, for which we sewed a
cover out of bedsheeting.

(We tried a "memory foam" pad, but even a 1" thickness of memory foam
is seriously heavy!!!)
