It is a very nice kit. The only, not so good feedback I have heard from Syncro owners is that it doesn't work well with the stock skip plate system on the van. Some really like having the plates. I remove them on my vans to save some weight. They don't see off road that would need the protection. Without them I don't cut the oil pans anymore. 16" rims, taller tires and aftermarket shocks and springs allow me to safely run without the plates. dylan ----- Original Message ---- From: Benny boy <huotb@VIDEOTRON.CA> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Monday, August 18, 2008 8:29:17 AM Subject: Re: Zetec Syncro Westy hits the road..yee haw Very interesting Daryl, this make a nice DIY kit at 5K$. Even if a mechanic would do it, at 20-25hr it still well under 7k$. I think Bostig went in the right direction with their DIY kit. I guess it's about the same total $$$ as a Subi 2.2L (maybe a little bit more), but you get a newer engine and no harness to deal with. I wish them both good luck. Ben http://www.benplace.com/vw2.htm
