Mrs Squirrel needs a car. Her Volvo sedan has a me$$ed up transmission.
We're considering getting a used Subaru Outback or Forester, which seem
to be better suited for our new home in Bend, Oregon anyway.

We could do a better job picking a good one if we knew how to spot Known
Issues, whether there were good years/bad years, and what constitutes
"high mileage" for these vehicles. I don't want to take up any bandwidth
on this forum, so if you know about this stuff, please p-mail me.
