Volks, It pains me to say I have had a fair amt of experience with AAA Plus and tow trucks. During my 2yr drive-about ... before I pulled the infamous Ken Morgan aka jake4parts on eBay engine, I had the pleasure getting to know 10-12 tow trucks drivers in various states and Canada. I'm really sorry to hear about B&S's problems with AAA but I'd have to say my experiences were excellent. On the AAA call I always stated clearly that I wanted a flatbed tow truck. One time I needed to be towed 300 miles back to Denver from Kansas. My plan ... get one tow for 100 miles and drop the Van at an off ramp. Camp there till the nxt morning, call AAA again for a 2nd 100 mile tow. Leapfrog this way until I reached Denver. As we were tooling along the interstate on the 1st 100 mile leg, I shared my plan with the tow truck driver. He thought about this for a while then said "Shoot, I can take you all the way to Denver". "I'll pull over every 100 miles, unhook your vehicle, hook it back up and do another 100 miles." I said, that would be great, but we instead of unhooking each time, we could just say we did that. His response "Nope that wouldn't be right". Three hook ups and 6 hours later we were in Denver. larry roadhaus.com - - - > From: oddstray@ODDSTRAY.COM > Subject: Re: Trip Contingencies > B&S > '87 Westy 'Esmerelda Blanc' > SoCal
