Teflon tape should only be used on fittings designed for the threads to
make a seal. This is mostly tapered thread fittings such as used on pipe.

The oil pressure switch adapter (bushing) is a fine thread that relies
mostly on the copper washer for a seal. Here a quality thread sealant such
as loct-tite thread and flange sealant (anaerobic) will seal this up for
good. It will also prevent it form working out next time the pressure
switch needs to be changed.

Teflon tape works well for me on fittings like that. You should probably
replace the copper washer too.
