I just purchased a new VW Wiper Arm for my 84 Westy, as my current one was
not holding well.  I had cleaned all the loose metal out of the splines on
the shaft, and noticed that the matching splines in my old arm were worn.
So, I ordered a new one (p/n 251 955 409), and upon looking at the new unit,
I notice no splines on it.

My question is, are the splines cut into the new arm upon attaching to the
shaft, or should the arm of had splines on it.
