IMO, each has nifty points. The pocket radio got good reviews here:

good volume, not tinny, case feels good and as far as cheap pocket
radios go, I understand the 300 is pretty sensitive (I'm listening to
15.245 mhz right now. Radio Australia 5:20 PM PST). The crank radio
works well too and has weather channels.

A neat "throwback" cheap thrill for me and great for the Westy. (VC) I
may even carry both.
