I have decided on M8 1.25 8.8 bolts. I am however going to put high temp anti-seize on them before they go in. I also got 25mm length to accommodate using a single helicoil. I am using 35mm length to replace the cooperative bolts. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Daniel - Turbovans" <scottdaniel@TURBOVANS.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 2008 5:19 PM Subject: Re: Header bolts broken >I like that, 'the heat wrench.' > > ok, ok, I'll try stainless studs with nuts someday......... > or, if you are SURE stainless bolts come right out of the heads years > later..............I'll give that a try sometime. > Scott > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Dennis Haynes" <d23haynes57@HOTMAIL.COM> > To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> > Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 2008 9:12 AM > Subject: Re: Header bolts broken > > >>I have been there done that with stainless bolts I have installed.
