Anti seize has thickness especially the copper stuff. Large lump stuff. You dont want this on the face of the flange for drum and especially disc brakes. It can cause the drum or rotor to not sit flat providing a pulsing pedal just like a warped drum. Some on the center hub is fine but keep it off the face of the flange. Found what looks like "Copper" antiseize on my Westie's drum and axle flange (I really don't think it's corrosion): http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/AxleFlangeFace.jpg/AxleFlangeFace-full;ini t:.jpg http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/DrumAntiseize.jpg/DrumAntiseize-full;init: jpg A while back, I had my rear brake work checked by a local VW mechanic. I'm sure he had good intentions putting this stuff on. (future removal of drum easier) Seems like a good idea, so thought I'd post it. Aside from using too much of this stuff, can anyone see draw backs to doing this?
