One way to go would be buy new tires in 215/70/14. These are rated for the weight of a Westy, particularly one that is not loaded down. Just make sure they are 44 psi rated too. If you plan to keep them long make sure they have 2 ply sidewall as well. If you only want them for the trip home you might consider the low priced Asian unknowns. 205/70/14 is the stock size for alloys but these are mostly much weaker than the 215/70/14 of the same brand and model tire. The relative weight of the tires tells the tale too. The 215/70/14 is stronger and still allowable on 5.5 steel 14 rims if that is what you have. Look at this one and compare down the chart to the 205 version to see the difference in rating for a small bump up in size. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?make=Kumho&model=Solus+KR21&partnum=17TR4KR21&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&place=1 Mark David O'Bryan wrote: > I'm here in Denver to drive home an '87 Westy that I bought (just flew in > this morning).
