Subject:Re: Clean Duct Tape Residue? (pop to canvas repair)

Thanks Jim.

On the note of spot checking cleaners......

My canvas was already pretty "mottled" and this is all kind of an
experiment so I wasn't too concerned how it would end up looking, but
whatta joke! I used strong mildew cleaner on the canvas. Didn't do
anything to the mildew spots, but sure changed the colour! Anyhow....
--- :^)

FWIW, (I'm sure there may be others with duct taped patches) by the
time I cleaned/rinsed the area around the rip, I was well away from
the duct tape gunk. I could have left that stuff alone and just
washed/rinsed with soapy water to prep for patches.

And FWIW, I used "Goo Gone" to try and clean the gunk. Kinda worked,
but hardly worth the effort.

Hand cleaner might work a lot better.

Cheers,

Neil.
