Thanks for the info everyone, the reman (to answer Mark's question) was bad almost out of the box. I put it on, started it up, and it seemed OK. Two days later (today) my wife went to drive it, and NOTHING. It had drained the battery so low that it wouldn't even run the digital clock! Figure that. I asked about the wiring earlier because I wanted to make sure I had not wired it up wrong. I hadn't. Luckily there was another one in town and I got it installed this afternoon. It's the third reman on the car, all free after the first one. The one on the car that's working now is not the same brand as the bad one I installed previously. The shop said ok but that he would pay for removal and install if it was faulty, eight alternators later they got one that worked. > > Mark in AK - Off to Seattle in a couple hours, YAHOO!!!! > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Jim Felder <jim.felder@GMAIL.COM> > Date: Thursday, September 4, 2008 10:47 am > Subject: Need quick answer... how many connections to 2.1 alternator? > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > >> I just put a reman alternator on my 2.1.
