The height will not be a problem. -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of A2L1 Sent: Wednesday, September 24, 2008 3:31 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Oil drain plug I had a real hassle removing the drain plug from the 2.1 I finally got it off and was going to install the new replacement when I noticed that the replacement ( M14 -1.50 oil tite #65215 from Advanced Auto Parts) is about 1/2 maybe a little more longer than the buggered up one I removed. Will this extra lenght pose any problems in the motor? I dont know the tolerances or clearances involved in the internals and cant find an y info on it. Should I grind off the extra length or should it do ok because there is enough room? Thanks, A J -- mr.a2l1ATgmailDOTcom
