Good Point Allan. I don't recall much of anything from my actual driver's training but I'd be willing to be there was little to no education on such things. It also occurred to me that things like driving down long grades and such are probably taught differently in different geographical locations. I'm not saying it should be that way but it seems that it's a possibility. Residing somewhere that has a relatively flat terrain I can't ever recall running into anyone who has ever overheated their brakes - let alone actually considering the possibility. There really are no long steep decents. It's just not something one encounters. Does that make someone "stupid" as others have alluded? I don't think so, Clueless maybe - but I'd also bet that places that don't encounter snowy winter conditions don't place a lot of education on driving in the snow and ice. -- Thanks, Jeff '90 Carat (Grover) '86 (We call this one Parts) '78 Bus (Melissa) Patty's Bus
