I had a pair of these that I found 'new-in-the-box' at a VW swapmeet for a good price years ago, and added them into my '84 GL 7-pass van. They are glued together and you could dremel-saw them apart. I doubt that you could 'easily' replace the bad speakers with something else, and I doubt that 4" would fit. Maybe 3"? Good luck, Mike B. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tony Collins" <tonycollin@GMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Friday, October 03, 2008 9:30 AM Subject: Vanagon, Rear speaker enclosures > Hello List, > > I have looked in the archives, but I can not find information on the > little > speakers that are located in the rear upper corners of El guapo.
