Hi all. A good example of a minor waste of time and "you get what you pay for" I bought this: http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/FlorLight2full.jpg/FlorLight2full-full;init:.jpg at Canadian Tire. Yes it's an inexpensive 12V battery operated light. But..... The bulb. Yeesh. Unless positioned "just so", it falls out of the sockets. I might have messed up the contacts opening up the case but it looks like a cheap design. 2 half moon shaped contacts per end hold the bulb in. The bulb contacts (2 pins per end) sit at 3/9 o-clock in the valleys of each half moon. It doesn't take much to bump one end loose. Driving may do this. Also fastening to the shelf was a minor PITA. No brand name handy, but suffice to say, don't bother with the battery operated 12V fluorescent from Canadian Tire. But..... it seems to provide enough light http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/FlorLight.jpg/FlorLight-full;init:.jpg and my VOM sez it only draws .25 amp. The "Delta Six" factory Westy light drew 1.65 amps (!)
