Hi all. Does this: http://tinyurl.com/6bvb2e indicate a failed seal, or this is a "normal" amount of grease? I didn't clean the boots before popping them off, and dust/crap got on the shafts (D-oh!) so I need to clean/lube these parts. In the archives there's mention of CV joint grease being used on the manual steering rack. What are others using as a substitute for the grease specified by Bentley on P 48.4 ? Dealership says 10 days from Chermany for the greeze. Thanks, Neil. -- Neil Nicholson '81 JettaWesty "Jaco http://groups.google.com/group/vanagons-with-vw-inline-4-cylinder-gas-engines http://web.mac.com/tubaneil http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ + To unsubscribe from the Vanagon List send an e-mail to + listserv@gerry.vanagon.com with SIGNOFF VANAGON + in the body of the message. ------------------------------------------------------------
