Chris, Dennis is da man! You mentioned a;"thermostatic plate adapter ". I'm not sure what that is. I am also in the process of adding an oil cooler. During my gathering of parts I ran across this "thermostatic sandwich adapter" as seen on this page: http://neksiwel.20m.com/photo_1.html I did not care for the pencil size hole which is used to bypass cold oil. It's probably OK but opted for the full flow adapter instead and a "perm-cool 4 port thermostat ". They also make non-thermostatic sandwich adapters but if you are planning on leaving the heat exchanger space might be a problem. Good Luck Ken Lewis http://neksiwel.20m.com/ in statu viae . ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris S" <szpejankowski@GMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Thursday, November 20, 2008 8:31 AM Subject: Re: [VANAGON] Oil temp musings and hairbrained ideas > Dennis, thanks for the voice of experience.
