OK after some unexplained delay I got new fuel hose from my vendor. This time it's Continental, clearly marked "Made In Germany" and looks like good stuff. I clipped off all the non-reusable crimp clamps (that's the disadvantage of that type) and pulled the old hose off. It felt soft, like spaghetti. Pulling off the protective sleeves, there was no visible perforation of the hose underneath, but a lot of "goo". So having read about this issue, it seems like re-using the old sleeves might be a contributing factor. Or maybe it was just cooincidence that many of the people who reported the "goo" also re-used the sleeves. I really don't see how re-using the sleeves could cause this -- but am thinking of using something a little "breathable"... has anyone tried anything like this: http://www.competitionproducts.com/prodinfo.asp?number=201038 Allan Allan Streib <streib@cs.indiana.edu> writes: > Arrrrghhhhh!!! > > Not even a month ago I replaced all the fuel line in the van.
