My original slider door handle broke years ago. I drove my Vanagon to a dealer and asked if they have a replacement with a lock that I could use the same key (the original key). The answer I got was no. I ended up buying a new handle with a new lock and a new key for the new handle. I had my Vanagon at the dealership and they would not do anything so that I do not have to use a different key for the new door handle. I still believe they can oder a new key identical to yours. But it may be a bit of hassle, takes time and will be expensive.
