I'm wondering if you are thinking that the actual search of the subject archives can be facilitated through google will work, which it won't. To "access" the vanagon arhives, yes, you can use google, and get this:
http://gerry.vanagon.com/archives/vanagon.html
The way that can be done is to put the precise words in the google search box that you put in your email subject line, with the word Vanagon in front of it.
