I disagree -- well, maybe better stated I think that turbodiesels CAN be
reliable.  My OM617 Mercedes turbodiesel has never let me down.  It
would not meet today's emission requirements, it's not as fuel efficient
as today's TDIs/CDIs can be, but it *is* reliable.
