Hey everybody with gmail. I'm working on putting together a master file of emails so that it will be possible to easily import all the past vanagon emails into gmail, using the method suggested by Tim here. I will host the file with easy-to-follow instructions sometime over the next few days on a webserver where people can download it. So let's not all hammer gerry trying to do this all at once! -Wes honemastert wrote: > Fellow Vanagon Listee's > > It's not exactly easy, but not that > difficult either: > > Yes the GET command > is what I used, but you have to first get > a list of the archive files. > > send an email to gerry > listserv@gerry.vanagon.com > with the subject: VANAGON FILELIST > > That gives you an archive list.. then I used > gnu emacs (any text editor with 'rectangular' > (e.g. columnar cut/paste)will work, > to formulate a list of 'GET' commands.. > > So.. see the following snipping of the > return of the first command...... > > > date Fri, Mar 3, 2006 at 3:34 PM > subject "VANAGON FILELIST" > > Reply > > * > * Archive files for the vanagon list at GERRY.VANAGON.COM > * (weekly logs) > * > * filename filetype GET PUT size (bytes) date time > * -------- -------- --- --- ------------ ---------- -------- > VANAGON LOG9404 LOG OWN 766,788 1998-04-20 15:37:24 > VANAGON LOG9405 LOG OWN 501,033 1998-04-20 15:37:44 > VANAGON LOG9406 LOG OWN 100,917 1998-03-05 18:38:00 > VANAGON LOG9407 LOG OWN 792,711 1998-04-20 15:38:16 > VANAGON LOG9408 LOG OWN 1,501,131 1998-04-20 15:39:16 > VANAGON LOG9409 LOG OWN 1,514,406 1998-04-20 15:40:44 > VANAGON LOG9410 LOG OWN 1,560,470 1998-04-20 15:41:02 > VANAGON LOG9411 LOG OWN 1,833,551 1998-04-20 15:42:34 > VANAGON LOG9412 LOG OWN 477,582 1998-04-20 15:44:00 > ... > .... > ..... > > Then you send another formatted email like the following to > gerry (same address as above) > > You can put these commands in the body of the email as I recall.. > > Want to grab the first few?
