I got this inquiry from an acquaintance: My mother owns an '87 Vanagon which she bought new, but elected not to get power steering. She now wishes that she had power steering and I'm wondering if it's feasible (and affordable) to convert. So, you experts out there, and especially anyone that haw done this, assuming a competent mechanic in a good shop, what is he looking at in 1) Cost of acquiring parts, either new or used (I'm assuming it would take a mixture of both) 2) Hours of shop time/cost Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------ + To unsubscribe from the Vanagon List send an e-mail to + listserv@gerry.vanagon.com with SIGNOFF VANAGON + in the body of the message. ------------------------------------------------------------
