hi allan, yeah, there's a guy ............he's on gerry or diesel vanogon or some lists...... he put a, I think, 300TD engine into his vanagon. 5 cylinders, 3 liters. Not sure about the turbo part. Maybe someone knows who he is. If you've ever seen a mercedes diesel engine out of the car.............they look to be 3 times the mass and volume of a stock disesel engine. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Allan Streib" <streib@CS.INDIANA.EDU> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Friday, December 19, 2008 2:29 PM Subject: Re: TD/TDI noise? > Scott Daniel - Turbovans <scottdaniel@TURBOVANS.COM> writes: > >> this is more 'personal opinion' .,..........but noise and vibration >> are two of the numerous downsides to diesels. > > Not really anymore in new passenger diesel cars, but likely yes in any > diesel that you'd put in a Vanagon. > > Has anyone ever put a Mercedes diesel in a Vanagon?
