On long trips - especially if I am going to be out in the bush country,
I always take two stock Vanagon jacks, several pieces of wood, 2x6 size,
and a couple of jack stands. If need be, I can lift the front end or the
back end completely off the ground - and be safe by using the jack
stands. The stock screw jacks are slow, but the get the job done without
any strain on my ligaments and joints. I absolutely HATE mechanical
scissors jacks.
