I asked the IT guru connected with our college how to download the gerry
archives.  For some reason he went ahead and used

http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/

and downloaded 113915 files in a total of 1.2 gig space.  He said he was
kicked off the gerry server, but that he thinks he got most of them.

Another bit of fairly useless trivia...
