Thanks David. I feel a little sheepish, but did not realize that K&N filters used oil in the filter element. I know that oil fouling the MAF is already a potential issue with the stock Jetta 2.0 so wouldn't want to possibly exacerbate that. I know of two other VanaJetta guys who are using Honda (Model?) air filter boxes. To my eye, they use larger elements (hard to tell from these pics) http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/HondaAirFilterBox2.jpg than the Caravan V6 box. http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/Caravanfilterbox2.jpg Actually I was quite surprised to see just how small the Caravan box looked compared to the Jetta box. I removed the silencer when I installed the box so the flow may be "ok". I have to "Air Care" (emissions testing) my VanaJetta soon (crosses fingers.....). Hopefully the Caravan air filter/box won't create trouble in that regard. Neil.
