Too true from what I've heard.

A buddy of mine (somewhat humourously) shared a conversation he had
with a forest ranger about cougars. He asked the ranger something
like:

"what do you hear before a cougar appears?"

Ranger: "the last sound you hear, is you screaming"

My tongue slightly in cheek, but yah. They're quiet.
