FWIW on the topic of leaking / weeping head gaskets (of course we should really be calling them coolant gaskets around the head), I had a problems with my '86 2.1. After driving I could hear a drip and sizzle of coolant dripping onto the heat shields. Upon advice form the list, the choice was to use the Bar's Stop Leak or Suburau part http://www.subaruparts.com/catalog/?section=366 I opted for two cans of the Subaru material and followed these instructions: * Siphon enough coolant out of your EXPANSION tank, not the overflow tank to make room for the two bottles. Shake 'em up, pour 'em in. Some on the Samba forums say to run your motor for a few minutes, then shut it down for a while so it disperses through the engine and not the rest of the system when the thermostat opens. My weep literally stopped within a couple of minutes and hasn't come back. Some folks on the Samba say it has sealed them up for years! I'm hoping it gets me by til I have time for a head gasket job. * The material and procedure worked for me. I haven't had any radiator / heater core issues. The leak stopped within minutes. One recommendation was to let the engine cool off after the above procedure and not to run it for 24 hours after the material addition. Hope this helps. Dave
