I've been lugging FEs around for about 25 years now over the course of two
vans and have never had to use one.  I've saved the oldest one for testing
the next time I'm out and the thought occurs to me.  The newer, 5 lb. one I
suppose I should have tested and refilled, but I'm guessing that it may be
cheaper just to buy a new one?
