I have a 91 auto and have determined that the brake master cyclinder needs replaced. Its an automatic so at least I dont have to mess around with the slave. I was chatting online with a van owner and he said he may have a master because he bought one for his but then sold the van, He is looking. That gave me the idea to check here on the off chance that maybe someone has done the same thing and has a master just sitting and would like to sell it. I did find out that from 1980 through 1991 they are all the same so if there is one just sitting and you would like to sell it or maybe trade for some bay parts then by all means please contact me. Part two is that I have never replaced a master on a Vanagon can anyone enlighten me as to the proper proceedure or to any tricks/shortcuts? I am guessing that I will have to remove the instrument cluster and the column cover but not sure about any of it and can use any help/information available. Thanks .
