Subject:Re: Removing Wbx Engine Case Studs

I stopped short of saying that I first removed the cylinders and pistons.

I made a wrist pin puller out of a length of pipe large enough for the
pin to slide into, some "Allthread" and nuts and washers.

You have to pull #s 2 and 4 pistons before you can pull #s 1 and 3.
That is because you have to go through the holes in the water jacket to
access the wrist pins. You remove the C-clip that you can see, put the
allthread through the wrist pin, put a washer and nut or at least a nut
on the inboard end (small enough to clear the C-clip on the blind side),
slide the pipe over the allthread, put a large washer on the allthread
that will rest on the end of the pipe, then put on a nut and, using a
wrench, turn the nut so that the wrist pin is withdrawn. Of course, you
have to immobilize the all thread while turning the wrench.
