Well, since this question was never directly answered, I'll do it. All the
Vanagon seats are swappable left to right.

As Chris said, it's the bases that make them swivel.The seat tracks are atop
the swivel mechanism, and the seat tracks are the same in all of the
Vanagons, regarlesss of the seats (armrests or not, early, late, camper,
etc.)
