My wife used to love the 85 Westy when it was new and running trouble free.
But after about 4 years we had a starting problem when the engine was hot,
causing the engine not to start or stalling at red lights.  This left her
stranded a few times and spooked her up to this day, 20 years later.  It
took 5 or 6 trips to the VW shop and the "mechanics" kept putting not needed
parts in trying to solve the problem.   It turned out to be the Temp2 sensor
acting up intermittently.  This caused me learn to become my own mechanic
and my wife to avoid driving the thing as much as possible.  In a way this
suits me fine.

It can work the other way as well, if you already have a woman and you want
to get a Westfalia. Some might threaten divorce or bodily harm, but the good
ones help you look for one. Or at least she only shakes her head and says,
"Go ahead."

professional female interested in you by showing up on a date driving a old
vanagon
is like a deal breaker.. i know this by experience LOL

they want a guy who drives a nice new SUV or sportscar.

thank god the vanagon isnt my only ride.. , or id be single forever LOL
