It's been year since I got it, but I purchased a module that converts the separate turn signal light & brake light into the trailer lighting that uses the same wire for brakes and turn signal. I think I paid around $25 for it. I just did a quick search and the link below shows something that is about the same thing. You can probably pick one up at your local parts house. http://hitches4less.com/motaco.html David Wilhite 84' Westy Middle TN ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rob" <becida@COMCAST.NET> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Saturday, March 28, 2009 10:25:00 PM GMT -06:00 US/Canada Central Subject: Re: Auxiallary Brake Lights - Was Carrying Scooter At 3/28/2009 06:46 PM, David Wilhite wrote: > Since I already had installed trailer lighting, I just tapped > into it, so I have turn signal and brake light functions. > >David Wilhite > >84' Westy > >Middle TN How did you deal with the brake lights? I hooked up a standard 4 pin trailer connection on my '84. The ground, right turn, left turn and running lights. Rob becida@comcast.net '91 VW Jetta & an '84 Westy in western WA
