We ran the pump a couple hours every few days to fill up the stock tank for our gravity-feed water system. The box made a considerable difference. When you're shooting for silence, though, it gets harder; because every time you remove 90% of the noise energy, the perceived noise drops by half. I have heard that some of the little Hondas -- a 350-watter in particular, I think -- have extra quieting and do a pretty good job with it. Not silent, but pretty quiet. Never heard one, so I don't really know what that means in practice. -- David Beierl - Providence RI USA -- http://pws.prserv.net/synergy/Vanagon/ '89 Po' White Star "Scamp"
