There's a pretty well known link for this.� Try Googling "A Vanagon for all seasons."� This fellow has an underbody storage box on the passenger side but not much detail on its construction, as I recall.

I am currently working on a project with another vanagon buddy, to build a metal storage box that will bolt under the van along the sliding door area. 

We are looking at a metal box that would be about as deep as the lowest part of the van in this area to not high center on the box. We are considering cutting a hole or a couple holes in the floor area to access the storage box. 

Any experiences, ideas, thoughts?
