Thanks for the reply Ken, The power actuator is not connected currently and the locking knob is floppy up and down. I have removed the panel and motor to test the lock. I have the motors, it seems more like a lock issue and more focussed, an interior locking knob issue. df ________________________________ From: Ken Wilford <kenwilfy@comcast.net> To: dylan friedman <insyncro@YAHOO.COM>; vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Thursday, April 16, 2009 10:45:21 AM Subject: Re: slider door power lock 86-91 Can you pull the interior panel? I believe what has happened is that your power motor has stopped moving in the lock position. This is causing the "spring loaded" effect. You can try to get these motors working. Some times it is just that the pins in the door jamb aren't lining up just right. Pick up on the outside door handle a little and if this is the case you will hear the motor work and the door will either finish locking or unlock itself. If the motor is toast then you can remove it by removing the interior panel and just taking it out. I have new ones for $100 if you need one. Let me know if you need any more help.
