I installed the Audiovox which is about 80 or $90, but I have a 2.2 Subaru conversion. Hans at East Coast Vanaru walled me through the setup. The hardest part was running the wires from the back to the front. The control works pretty well, although I think it could use a stronger vacuum pot as it seems to lag behind on hills. Chris from Jordan VW sometimes sells stock cruise controls, (Samba is another source) and if I had to do things over I might go this route. There's a lot to be said for stock. If you can't find one, the Audiovox is not a bad replacement though. I can't comment specifically about installing the Audiovox on the stock VW engine, but it was pretty easy on the Subaru--just confusing at 1st glance. Troy
