Let's see... Are you taking 90 across?

If so, cut south in Missoula, MT, there is a great shop in Hamilton,
MT on US 93. My BIL works there and he is a Vanagon nut. Pmail for
contact info. You will love the Bitteroot Valley. BTW, there are a
couple of hot springs in the Chief Josephs Pass, Jackson MT area of
your trip.

You will wind up in Winnimucca, NV. Take 80 across to SF. Lots of
good camping in the Sierras around Truckee, CA. Comind down out of the
Sierras you will pass Sutter's Mill and all sorts of cool places.

Check out Van Cafe in Santa Cruz. Brighton beach is OK. There is the
Cement Ship Beach (I think this is what Warren is talking about) with
camping services. If you prefer mountain camping, there is Big Basin
park outside of Boulder Creek, CA.

South of Santa Cruz... you will find Castroville, Monterey, Pacific
Grove, Carmel, Big Sur, San Luis Obisbo, and innumerable number of
beautiful sites for your viewing pleasure.

If you go though Big Sur, stop at the River Cafe and have an amazing
dining (lunch, breakfast) experience.
