What everyone is saying has confirmed my suspicions.  First, the thermostat
isn't working right.  Second, that I have the 80 C thermostat and that makes
sense since the van came out of the Central Valley in California before I
bought it.
A new 87 C thermostat is on it's way.  Let's see if running at the right
temperature makes any difference in gas mileage.
