Doug, with the traveling and tourism work that I do from my vanagon, the GPS (in my case a tomtom) is a permanent fixture. They are the best thing that ever happened to traveling on the road. I use mine about six times a day when I'm on the road. I never consult or print out maps, all I need is the name of the town or the address. Even tells me when I'm going to arrive.
